PM hCaptcha — Protect Private Messages From Spam & Automated Bots

PM hCaptcha adds an extra layer of protection to MyBB's private messaging system by requiring selected usergroups to complete an hCaptcha challenge before they can send a private message.

Administrators can choose exactly which usergroups require verification, allowing trusted members to continue using PMs normally while protecting the forum from new accounts, spambots, automated advertising and mass-PM abuse.

💡 How It Works

1. Administrator enables PM hCaptcha from the Admin CP.
   
2. Select the usergroups that should be protected.
   
3. Enter your hCaptcha Site Key and Secret Key.
   
4. Selected users will see an hCaptcha challenge when composing a private message.
   
5. When they click Send, the CAPTCHA is verified server-side.
   
6. If verification succeeds, MyBB continues sending the PM normally.
   
7. If verification fails, the private message is not sent.
